Vivo V40 Series Launch: Sleek Design, 80W Fast Charging, and ZEISS Camera Technology 

Chinese tech company Vivo today (August 7) launched the V40 smartphone series. In this series, the company has launched two smartphones: Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro. Both smartphones feature an 80W fast charging support with a 5500mAh battery.

Additionally, the smartphones come with a 50-megapixel ZEISS telephoto portrait camera. ZEISS cameras are known for their high-quality workmanship and better light intensity. This camera includes features like standard autofocus lens and manual focus.

Design, Storage, and Color Options

The company claims that both phones in the Vivo series are the slimmest in this battery capacity segment. The two smartphones in the Vivo V40 series will come with a similar design. The back panel of both smartphones features an Aura Light Ring.

The base version of the smartphone, ‘Vivo V40,’ has been launched by the company in three color options: Ganges Blue, Lotus Purple, and Titanium Gray. Meanwhile, the Vivo V40 Pro is available in two color options: Ganges Blue and Titanium Gray. The starting price of the base variant of the smartphone is ₹39,000.

Display: Both smartphones in the Vivo V40 series feature a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a peak brightness of 2,800 nits and a resolution of 1260×2800 pixels.

Main Camera: The Vivo V40 has a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main camera and a 50MP wide-angle camera on the back panel. On the other hand, the Vivo V40 Pro offers a triple camera setup on the back panel, including a Sony IMX921 main camera, a 50MP wide-angle camera, and a 50MP Sony IMX816 (ZEISS) telephoto camera.

Selfie Camera: For selfies and video calling, both smartphones feature a 50MP front camera, Vivo V40 Pro camera quality

Battery and Charging: Both smartphones come with an 80W fast charging support and a 5500mAh battery, Vivo V40 battery life

Processor: The Vivo V40 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, while the Vivo V40 Pro is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ processor. Both smartphones run on FunTouch OS 14, based on Android 14.

Other Features: The phones include smart color temperature adjustment, distance-sensitive lighting, studio-quality Aura Light, and ZEISS professional portrait camera. The smartphones also have an in-display fingerprint sensor and a Type-C charging port.

Water Resistance

Both smartphones are IP68 certified. This certification indicates that the smartphones can protect themselves effectively from dust and water. The company claims that the smartphones can withstand the effects of water for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters.
